There is nothing nice I have to say about Best Buy. If this offends you, stop reading now. Of all the companies I have dealt with over the years, there is not one that is as bad as best buy. Let me start you off with just 5 simple reasons why you should never shop at Best Buy. EVER.
Well if you have not had enough, I can tell you from experience that a vast majority of their customer service reps are clueless and relatively ignorant.
Here are just a few things I have learned from their own employees.
Their TVs are intentionally tuned in a manner to steer you in the direction of whatever makes them the most amount of money. It is true that the salespeople are not working on commission, but they are trained to sell the items that fetch Best Buy the greatest profit. Over time this has become their house brands Dynex and Insignia.
That pushy salesman trying to extoll the virtues of extended warranties, extra software and those lovely subscriptions was trained and sometimes forced to do so because these things bring in tons of revenue. Hardly anyone uses it and most customers are unaware as to what it even covers.
I got plenty more, If you have a story to share, please do.
I now join the many thousands who hate Paypal. I have been an ebay Powerseller for several years and I can still say nothing good about it. I have had issues with chargebacks, fraudulent buyers and the ridiculous Paypal and eBay fees. and don’t even get me started on the whole Paypal email scams.
My experience with Paypal today was nothing short of frustrating. I just paid for an item via Paypal and Paypal defaulted to my bank account instead of my credit card as it should have in the first place. Why, because it is cheaper for Paypal to use my bank account rather than pay the fees for my credit card. But the problem is that I moved a little while ago and just closed this account. So, I tried contacting Paypal to change the mode of payment. First, calling them requires 6 different bits of information and a web pin that stays active for 60 minutes only. Then I get someone on the phone who cannot speak 6 words of English. This CSR continues to extol the virtues of Paypal and tells me how they have nothing to do with bank payments. Once the payment is made, apparently nothing can be done about it. The best part of this conversation, he took me through the steps to make a payment and here I was on the phone about a payment I had just made.
I will probably have to use paypal in the future only because there is no alternative. eBay auctions will only accept Paypal and ebay owns Paypal. This is a monopoly any way you look at it, which is why the service sucks. So, today I join the hordes of Paypal hating ebayers and start hoping that there will be some other system to make it all better.
